Mt. Manaslu.
This trekking route offers
a lifetime opportunity to experience the unspoild and
untouched region of Nepal. Round Mt. Manaslu trekking
opened in 1991 as protected area and a special permit is
needed to trek in the region. Manaslu has a unique
environment, which is exceptionally rich in bio
diversity that has made this region one of the finest
tourist destinations of Nepal for many years. The passing through Larkey Pass (5160m) cuts
behind the Manaslu massif offers some of the finest
trekking spots in the Himalayan wilderness. The trek is geographically
spectacular and culturally fascinating. The panoramic views of
Mt. Manaslu and other neighbouring peaks are spectacular from
Larkey Pass, while crossing the pass from Larkey Pass
Base to Bhimthankot . The inhabitants of upper Buri
Gandaki region are Nupri, who are direct descendants of
Tibetan immigration. Buddhist prayer flags and chortens
are abundant in the region. Much of this trek is in a
region of strong Tibetan influence,
adjoining Tibet, the region
is providing spectacular beauties of surrounding
landscape along the border of Nepal and Tibet.
