Paro - Thimpu - Bumthang -
Punakha: The
centre circuit comprises of the two central Districts of
Trongsa and Bumthang. The Centre circuit boasts unique
attractions and is home to many sacred monuments in the
country. The two Districts in the centre circuit also
defined much of our History and till the early 1950’s
was the seat of power for our two Kings. In this circuit
one may attend the Nomads festival of Bumthang and delve
into the wonders of a living culture of our nomads and
participate in the Matsutake festival of Ura and taste
the high altitude mushroom and drown in the Red panda
beer. One can also witness numerous festivals including
the annual tshechu of Trongsa and Bumthang, the Jampa
Lhakhang tshechu, or witness the Ura tshechu that is
unique. You may also visit the Ta Dzong that is now
turned into a museum with its dominating four towers or
visit the Wangdue Choling palace in Chamkhar built by
our 1st King Ugyen Wangchuck. You may also trek the
Thrumshingla National Park and try and spot the six
species of globally threatened birds that includes the
Rufous necked hornbill, Rufous-throated wren-babbler,
Satyr Tragopan, Beautiful nuthatch, Ward’s trogon and
Chestnut-breasted partridge.

Scheduled itinerary:
Day 01.
|
Arrival
in Kathmandu: Transfer to hotel for check in and briefing
on the trip. An inductory sightseeing trip to downtown
Kathmandu or explore around hotel depending on your
flight arrival. |
Day 02.
|
Kathmandu: Guided sightseeing covering all the
major sightseeing points in and around
Kathmandu, covering the prominent landmarks such
as: Soyambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Patan,
Kumari (the living goddess) Temple and Durbar
Square Kathmandu. |

Day 03. |
Kathmandu to Paro and Thimphu. Transfer
to Kathmandu Airport for flight to Paro, then drive to
Thimphu (65Kms.) about 2hrs. Check in hotel.

Day 04.
|
Thimpu: Sightseein in Thimphu. Visit to Memorial
Chhorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Mothithang minizoo to
see the National Animal of Bhutan (Takin), Zulikha
Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum and National Library.
Lunch in Thimphu town. Afternoon, Paper Factory, Weaving
Center and then Handicraft Emporium. Evening at Leisure. |

Day 05.
|
Thimphu to Trongsa: Drive to Trongsa over
dochula pass, Phobjikha valley. After lunch, continue
the journey to Trongsa crossing Pelela pass. At Trongsa,
visit most impressive dzong in Bhutan. It shows one of
the most artistic and magnificent works of traditional
Bhutanese architecture. |

Day 06.
|
Trongsa to Bumthang: Drive to Kuenga Rabten
Palace. It is 1 hour drive from Trongsa to the south. It
was the winter palace of the King Jigme Wangchuck. Drive
back to Trongsa. At Trongsa, visit the impressive
Trongsa Dzongtake. Afternoon, drive to Bumthang. Evening
stroll around the Bumthang Town. |
Day 07.
|
Bumthang: Sightseeing in Bumthang. Visit to
Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, then walk over the
Chamkhar chhu till Tamshing Monastery. Afternoon, visit
to Jakar dzong, Cheese and honey factory. Evening, visit
the farm house for dinner and local drinks like suja
(butter tea) and Ara. |
Day 08.
|
Bumthang to Punakha: Early in the morning drive
to Punakha. Afternoon, hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, which is
located at a hill top. The temple is also known as 'the
temple of fertility. The hike will take about 30minutes
from the road end then continue the journey to Punakha.

Day 09.
|
Punakha to Thimphu: Hike to Khamsum Yule Namgyel
Chhorten. The hike will take about 45minutes.Then we
will visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong. Lunch at
Punakha. Afternoon, drive to Thimphu. Evening stroll
around the Thimphu town. |

Day 10. |
Thimphu to Haa: Drive to Haa. The drive will
take about 5hours. Visit Haa Lhakhang Karpo. Aftrnoon,
stroll around the Haa (small town). |
Day 11.
|
Haa to Paro: Drive to Paro over Chelela pass.
The pass is about 3800m. Just below the Pass towards
Paro, we can see the Mounatin Jhomolhari. On reaching
Paro, we will make a hike to Taktshang, Tiger's Nest.
Walk about 2hours 30 minutes upsteep. On way back, it
will just take about 1hour 30 minutes. Lunch will serve
at Taktshang cafeteria. Afternoon, return to Paro
visiting Kyichu Lhakhang and stroll around the Paro
town. |

Day 12. |
Paro to Kathmandu: After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport for flight to Kathmandu . Check in hotel
and rest. |
Day 13.
|
Kathmandu: After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath
and Bhaktapur. Return to hotel for refreshment.
Evening, sightseeing and shopping around
downtown Kathmandu and Thamel Street. |

Day 14. |
Transfer to airport:
Departure from Kathmandu or make extension as per your
time-frame. |
