Makalu: The specialties of the Makalu region are the Himalayan endowments of culture and nature. The hidden valleys of the Inkhu and Hongu rivers in Makalu–Barun National Park and Conversation Area lie on the wild side of Sagarmatha. The park spreads over the districts of Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu in northeast Nepal and is marked by the Nepal Tibet border in the north.  The park boasts of 47 species of orchids, 67 species of medicinal herbs, 25 of Nepal's 30 varieties of rhododendron, 19 bamboo species, 15 oak species, 48 species of primrose and 86 species of fodder trees. The park also offers bird-watching opportunities with its 400 species of birds, including the rare spotted wren babbler and the olive ground warbler. Wildlife include the endangered red panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard tops, ghoral, tahr, wild boar, barking deer, Himalayan marmot, weasel, langur monkey and serow. River Arun that flows through the park has 84 varieties of fish including salmon.

Scheduled itinerary:
Day 01.
 
Arrival in Kathmandu: Transfer to hotel for check in and briefing on the trip. An introductory sightseeing trip to downtown Kathmandu or explore around hotel depending on your flight arrival.
Day 02.
 

Kathmandu. Guided sightseeing covering all the major sightseeing points in and around Kathmandu, covering the prominent landmarks such as: Soyambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Patan, Kumari (the living goddess) Temple and Durbar Square Kathmandu.

Day 03. Kathmandu to Khandbari: By flight to Tumlingtar (460m) & trek to Khandbari (1040m).
Day 04. Khanbari Bazar to Fururu (1900m): Trek.
Day 05. Fururu to Num (1490m): Trek.
Day 06. Num to Sedua (1460m): Trek.
Day 07. Sedua to Tashi Gaon (2070m): Trek.
Day 08. Tashi Gaon to Kauma (3470m): Trek.
Day 09. Kauma to Mumbuk (3570m): Trek.
Day 10. Mumbuk to Nhe Kharka (3000m): Trek.
Day 11. Nhe Kharka to Sherson (4615m): Trek.
Day 12. Sherson to Makalu Base camp (5000m): Trek.
Day 13. Makalu Basecamp: Rest or explore around the Basecamp.
Day 14. Makalu Basecamp to Nhe Kharka: Trek.
Day 15. Nhe Kharka to Mumbuk: Trek.
Day 16. Mumbuk to Kauma: Trek.
Day 17. Kauma to Tashi Gaon: Trek.
Day 18. Tashi Gaon to Balung (760m): Trek.
Day 19. Balung to Pukuwa (550m): Trek.
Day 20. Pukuwa to Bumling (370m): Trek.
Day 21. Bumling to Tumlingtar: Trek.
Day 22. Tumlingtar to Kathmandu: By flight and check in hotel. Rest.
Day 23.
 

Kathmandu: After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur. Return to hotel for refreshment. Evening, sightseeing and shopping around downtown Kathmandu and Thamel Street.

Day 24. Transfer to airport: Departure from Kathmandu or make extension as per your time-frame.
